Arjuna Ranatunga, Sri Lanka’s World Cup-winning captain, has said that the country must be built first in order to build cricket.
Speaking to the media today (December 19), the former cricketer said that he intended to reform Sri Lankan cricket, as cricket-related corruption has been a recurring occurrence under any government.
He added: “But the minister who exposed the corruption was dismissed, while no action was taken against the other people involved in the incident.”
Ranatunga said that when the entire parliament agreed that the Sri Lanka Cricket administration was corrupt, presidential power was used to appoint the required individuals. (Newswire)
