MANILA – Carl Eldro Yulo continues to make a name for himself in the national gymnastics scene.

The younger brother of Olympian Carlos Yulo showed off his abilities in a dominant performance in Batang Pinoy, completing a sweep of seven golds in the individual events in men’s artistic gymnastics on Wednesday.

While playing for Manila, Yulo was unbeatable in the FIG Juniors 14-17 boys division, topping all individual events – vault, still rings, floor exercise, high bar, parallel bars, pommel horse, and individual all-around. All around – at the GAP gym in Intramuros, Manila.

He could claim an eighth gold medal pending the official results of the team event. Yolo may also join the senior event at the Philippine National Games, starting Thursday.

Also shining on Wednesday was María Selena Angela Gonzalez of San Juan, who captured five gold medals and a silver medal in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) High Performance 1.

Gonzalez topped the uneven bars (6.500), balance beam (8.150), and floor exercise (8.750) in the individual all-around (34.700) while taking second place in the silver medal on vault, behind first-place finisher Chelsea Mi Mayo City (9.350) of Taguig City. ..

Meanwhile, the Tagum City team, featuring Holly Bautista, Alona Margos Labrador, and Alyssa Reyes Solis, took the win in the team event with a total of 44.150 points.

In swimming, Arvin Naeem Taginota II of Pasig City continued his winning streak by claiming his fourth gold medal in this multi-event competition reserved for 17-year-olds. Tajinotta was part of Pasig’s victorious relay team in the Boys 12-Under 200m Medley Relay to add to his previous victories in the Boys 8-12 200m Individual, Boys 12-and-50m and 100m Backstroke.

At the BMX Park in Tagaytay City, Guimaras celebrated two gold medals, thanks to Gremark Gian Della Gente in the Boys 14-15 category and Ben Ryan Babica in the Boys 16-17 category.

Sisters Leila Anika and Jane Soleil Cervantes took gold medals for Paranaque City in the BMX Girls 13 & Under and Girls 14-15 categories, respectively. Emanuel Ridella from Imus emerged victorious in the boys 13 under category.
