Former Canford School pupil Eddie Jack has been selected as part of England’s squad for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Fast bowler Jack, 18, has risen through the Hampshire County Cricket Club pathway system, where he made his debut earlier this season.

He featured in the summer of 2023 for England Under-19s, and featured in the Ashes, where he picked up eight wickets, a best of 4-62 in his first youth Test at New Road.

Jack Hampshire’s debut came in the One Day Cup against Middlesex. He would go on to pick up his first professional wicket against Nottinghamshire, finishing with figures of 2-19 from nine overs.

Recently, the pacer took a five-wicket haul for England Under-19s against Bangladesh, ending the quadrangular tournament in India as England’s leading wicket-taker.

The Under-19 World Cup will be held in South Africa in January, where England will play in a group with host country Scotland and the West Indies.
