The Honolulu native also earned Academic All-District honors in 2021 and ’22, and is a three-time All-Mountain West Academic honoree. Tanovasa has started all 13 games this season and has started 27 times in five seasons with the Rainbow Warriors.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) and must have competed in 90 percent of the team’s contests or started in at least 66 percent of the games.
Tanovasa began his career at Eastern Illinois, where he earned FCS Freshman All-America honors, before transferring to UH in 2019.
