Two standout volleyball players have been elected to the Texas Sportswriters Association All-State teams.
In Class 3A, Troup High School’s Billy Blanton was selected as a third-team middle blocker.
Rusk High School’s Kenzee Norton, who also plays middle blocker, was named to the Class 4A honorable mention squad.
Blanton completed her senior season with 341 kills, 63 aces, 35 blocks, 312 digs, and 39 assists.
She was also named District Hitter of the Year.
Norton tallied 159 blocks to go along with 108 kills, eight aces and 35 digs.
Nominations for the elite teams were made by head coaches, and sportswriters from across Texas voted.
