WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (OnFocus) — Local cancer patients are being helped, thanks to Immanuel Lutheran School’s 5th-8th grade volleyball players and their cheerleaders. The team’s 2023 Pink Game Night raised $780 for the Aspirus Riverview Foundation’s Cancer Fund.

The fundraiser included a T-shirt sale, a candy bake sale, and a coin war. On the night of the pink game, pink carnations were presented to cancer patients and survivors, and the team also honored one of the school teachers, who is a breast cancer survivor. The fundraiser taught players how to build a team, honor loved ones and give back to the community.

The Aspirus Riverview Foundation Cancer Fund helps Aspirus Cancer Care-Wisconsin Rapids patients with costs related to their treatment for which other resources do not exist. Typical examples include nutritional supplements, transportation to appointments, home-delivered meals, grocery cards, assistance with utilities and rent, and more.

The Aspirus Riverview Foundation supports community efforts that align with improving the community’s health and wellness needs. To learn more about the foundation, visit aspirus.org/aspirus-riverview-foundation.
