Tyler Carter was named Defensive Player of the Year in the Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Game

Vicksburg native Tyler Carter was named Defensive Player of the Year (North Team) for the 2023 Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star football game.

In a 20-15 loss to South, Carter had 10 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He also played alongside Vicksburg natives Tyler Henderson, Bo Davis and DeMarcus Johnson.

Carter is a standout defensive lineman at Vicksburg High School where he tallied 51 tackles and 6.5 sacks in the 2023 season.
