He worked with Western Storm and England’s Lauren Filer, to help edit Ms Filer’s work during the 2023 Ashes Summer.

In his new role at Banbury, Mr Brooks will not only head up senior coaching, complementing the club’s existing Association of Coaches, but will also represent Banbury’s first eleven in numerous matches during the Home Counties Premiership season.

The club’s young cricketers will also benefit from Mr Brooks’ experience as he contributes to building strong foundations for the club’s future.

Announcing his appointment as head coach, Mr Brooks said: “Having returned to the region, I am thrilled to begin a new coaching journey.

“I was once a young, local, ambitious cricketer who was hungry for success and willing to work hard, and with the right knowledge and support, I was able to be part of Oxford CC’s winning HCPL team and go on to fulfill my dreams as a professional cricketer.

“I am confident that I will be able to help assist and improve some talented local players while also helping them achieve team success with Banbury CC.

“Furthermore, I am grateful for Banbury’s support in helping me identify a location for my coaching business; re-establishing a relationship with the Oxfordshire cricket community as well as assisting in the development of players and coaches within the club.

“With a commitment to work hard and have some fun, this should be an exciting time for me and Bunbury moving forward.”

Martin Phillips, Chairman of Banbury Cricket Club, said: “On a personal level, having been involved with Oxfordshire Cricket when Jack was only in his mid-teens, I have enjoyed watching how far Jack has progressed from afar throughout his entire career, and now, for Jack to join Banbury; I am very happy.

He added: “Jack will give a lot to the club on and off the field, and I know that his enthusiasm for the game is contagious and will influence others at the club.”
