Azerbaijani gymnasts win seven medals in London [PHOTOS]

Azerbaijani gymnasts won seven medals, including six gold and one silver, at the International Winter Stars Championships held in London.

Nilay Guliyeva, Alsu Abdullahieva and Roya Alekishyeva received Ballon gold medals, while Evelin Yushba and Maya Kozachuk received Hoop gold medals. Azerbaijannews Reports. Meanwhile, Kozachuk and Aleksheva took first and second place, respectively.

Earlier, Azerbaijani gymnasts achieved a brilliant victory at the World Trampoline Gymnastics Championships held in Birmingham, UK.

Gymnasts Ibrahim Mustafa Zadeh, Amar Bakhshaliyev, Samira Huseynova, and Ayan Shabanova won silver medals in the women’s synchronized program in the international age group competitions.

This result is the first achievement in international age group competitions in the history of Azerbaijani gymnastics in the synchronized program among women.

Meanwhile, Mikhail Malkin achieved a historic victory in the history of Azerbaijani gymnastics.

He became the first national gymnast to win first place in the individual tumbling event.

The Azerbaijani Gymnastics Federation was founded in 1956, and includes seven gymnastics disciplines recognized by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).

The federation has been experiencing a revival since 2002. The restructured federation has brought gymnastics to a whole new level. The high-level organization of gymnastics events has not gone unnoticed.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) included the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) in the list of meritorious federations.

For many years, the AGF has been included in FIG’s list of the top 10 gymnastics federations.

From 2014 to 2019, the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation was included in the list of the 10 strongest federations of the International Gymnastics Federation, and for the past three years, it topped the list.
