Houghton LakeOn Tuesday, December 19, the Northern Center hosted the season championship of the Women’s Volleyball League. Jansen Insurance defended the top seed in the tournament by eliminating three seeds Volley Mama 25-20, 26-24. Volley Mama advanced, defeating Arauco in the first round and downing No. 2 seed Brew Crew in the semifinals.

On the other side of the bracket, Exterior Installers defeated Mcneill Graphix before falling to Jansen in the other semifinal

The women’s winter volleyball season begins January 9. Free Open Play will be available until 8 p.m. Registration can be done by visiting www.coachvick.net/adult-volleyball.

On Wednesday, December 20, the Got Your Six-sponsored team defended the No. 1 seed by defeating the No. 3 seed Screaming Eagles in the Winter Championship Series.

The Eagles advanced with an upset win over Superior Dirt Works in one semifinal match. On the other side, Got Your Six advanced over No. 4 seed Riverland.

Girls winter volleyball begins January 10.
