First place competition and judging awards were the highlight of a big year for the Dolphins Gymnastics Club at Carrum Downs.
Young gymnast Gabriella has only scored this year, but she finished first overall as an individual at the Victorian Championships and fifth overall as part of a team at the National Championships. Club member Robin Tschetter also had a strong performance at the International Men’s Artistic Gymnastics competition, and Josh Walker won silver at the National Club Championships.
Last month, the club’s coach Nidal Al-Youssef ended the year on a high note by winning the International Gymnastics Federation’s Gold Jury Award. Al-Yousef helped guide the club through financial difficulties during the Covid-19 pandemic.
