Doha, December 18: As part of Qatar National Day celebrations, CRIC Qatar, Qatar’s leading cricket organisation, hosted a spectacular cricket tournament featuring teams from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The grand final match of the tournament was played between Serandip Cricket Club and Seabirds Cricket Team, enthralling cricket fans and celebrating the spirit of the game.
In a thrilling encounter, Serandib Cricket Club won first, scoring a total of 108 runs in 8 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. The Sea Birds Cricket team, in pursuit of the target, fought valiantly but managed to score 96/6 in 8 overs, falling short of the target. The final match demonstrated the talent and competitive spirit of the participating teams, adding excitement to the National Day celebrations of the State of Qatar.
The felicitation ceremony witnessed the presence of dignitaries, including KS Prasad, a prominent leader of the Telugu community in Doha; Jai Prakash Singh, President, Central India Association; and Mrs. Rena Danao. Mohinder Jalandhari, the famous Punjabi singer, added a musical touch to the event, creating a vibrant atmosphere for the viewers.
Sayed Rafi, Founder and President of CRIC Qatar, expressed his gratitude during the ceremony, thanking the organizing committee for its wonderful efforts in ensuring the success of the tournament. He specifically acknowledged the contributions of Makram, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Atif, Tanveer, Umair, Asim and the entire organizing team for their dedication and hard work.
