Grethcel Soltones has found a new home when she joins the Akari Chargers ahead of the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season.
“New year, new Chargers,” the team announced on Wednesday, January 3.
“The Akari Chargers welcome outside stud Grethcel Soltones. More firepower and championship experience. Let’s light it up, Lady Beast!”
Soltones has been a regular starter for the Petro Gazz Angels for the past three seasons, helping the team win the 2022 Reinforced Conference title followed by a runner-up finish in the first Philippine competition last year.
The 28-year-old is set to bolster Akari’s rotation with Dindin Santiago Manabat, Faith Nesperos, Vivi Sharma, Erika Rajas and Michelle Cope.
The Chargers, who haven’t finished higher than seventh in the draft since its inception in 2022, look to have the same success with the addition of the Soltones.
