
RAJKOT: Mahipal Lomrur’s unbeaten 122 and his fifty off wicketkeeper Kunal Singh Rathore helped Rajasthan post 267/8 against Kerala in the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy here on Monday.
Kerala reduced Rajasthan to 108/4 in the 29th over after acting captain Rohan Kunnumal elected to bowl. Rohan leads the team in the absence of Sanju Samson who has been named in the Indian ODI squad for the tour of South Africa.
Left-hander Lomoror and Rathore added 116 runs for the fifth wicket to put up a spirited fight. Rathore smashed 66 off 52 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
Lomror made his second hundred in List A cricket. He hit six fours and sixes in a 114-ball knock.
Once Rathore fell to off-spinner Akhin Sathar in the 45th over, Kerala picked up wickets to slow down Rajasthan’s lead. However, Lumoror took 18 points from the final over after being bowled by Akhin to set up the challenge total.
Akhin took 3/62 while Basil Thambi took 2/57.
