Maggie King was invited to the Omaha Supernova training camp

OMAHA, Neb. – Former outside hitter at Western Michigan Maggie King He was invited to the inaugural training camp of the Professional Volleyball Association’s Omaha Supernovas.

A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, King concluded a distinguished five-year career with the Broncos, which saw her named to the All-MAC First Team in each of the past four seasons. She was also a two-time All-Region College Athletic Association Academic Outreach selection and a four-time Academic All-MAC honoree. King finished her WMU career ranked second in program history in career kills (1,849) and points (2,052.0) and as the all-time leader in both games played (146) and blocks played (528).

King was one of 22 players from across the country invited to Omaha’s inaugural training camp, which will be held Jan. 3-22, to compete for 14 roster spots for the team’s inaugural campaign. There are two additional roster spots available for college recruits to become walk-on players.

The Omaha Supernovas are members of the Professional Volleyball Association, a new professional volleyball league and the premier women’s volleyball league in North America. The Supernovas are scheduled to host their first match in WNBA history on January 24, where they will take on the Atlanta Vibe at the CHI Health Center in Omaha.
