The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan women’s gymnastics team begins its 2024 season heading to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the Mean Girls Super 16 Gymnastics Championships on Friday (January 5) at 7 PM PT at Orleans Arena. The Wolverines will compete against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 9 Kentucky and No. 11 Michigan State on the first day of the two-day event.

• Michigan enters the 2024 season as the No. 6 ranked team in the WCGA Preseason Poll and was picked to win the Big Ten Championship by the conference coaches after capturing its 27th title in 2023.
• The Wolverines return 11 letter winners and add a graduate transfer McCallie Mar (Pennsylvania) with freshmen Kylie Boozer, Ava Jordan And Helen Zabrowski.
• Graduate students Sierra Brooks And Gabe Wilson Achieve their returns for the fifth year. Brooks is a 2023 AAI Award winner and a seven-time WCGA First Team All-America honoree, while Wilson is a four-time WCGA All-America honoree.
• Brooks and Wilson, along with seniors Carly Bowman And Naomi Morrisonwere voted team captains for the 2024 season. Brooks is a three-time team captain, while Wilson will be a captain for the second straight season, and Bowman and Morrison will be first-time captains for the Wolverines.
• Coach Beef Blocky She enters her 35th season at the helm of the Michigan program. She holds the most conference titles of any Big Ten coach in any sport and is a two-time national coach of the year and a 13-time regional coach of the year.
• The Wolverines have concluded a five-part series called Michigan Made, a comprehensive look at the months leading up to the Wolverines’ 2024 campaign.
