Multi-level marshal leads CCI resistance

All-rounder Mushir Khan took four wickets for 19 runs to lead the Cricket Club of India (CCI) to strike back and give his side an edge against Victory CC on day one of the two-day semi-final match of the UPL-76 Police Invitation Shield Cricket Tournament 2023, at PJ Stadium. Hindu Gymkhana on Saturday.

Victory CC chose to bowl well to restrict CCI to a meager total of 177 in 41.5 overs. CCI’s leading batsmen were Dhrumil Matkar and Musheer Khan who scored 46 and 41 runs respectively, while Atharva Ankolekar took 4 wickets for 47 runs.

In reply, Victory CC batsmen could not introduce themselves and were reduced to t0 86 for 6 wickets in 12.5 overs at the end of the day’s play. Jay Bista made 32. Victory CC with just four wickets to go must score another 91 runs to take the lead into the deciding first innings.

Meanwhile, New India Sports Club were bowled out for 190 in 55.5 overs against PG Hindu Gymkhana in the second semi-final, played at the Mumbai Police Gymkhana Stadium, Marine Drive.

Brief Scores: New Hind Sports Club 190 overall, 55.5 points (Siddhant Adahatrao 72, Vishwajeet Jagdale 39; Mohit Avashti 4/31, Junaid Khan 3/38) vs PG Hindu Gymkhana.

Indian Cricket Club 177 all out, 41.5 overs (Drumil Matkar 46, Mushir Khan 41; Atharva Ankolkar 4/47) to Victory Cricket Club 86 for 6, 12.5 overs (Jai Bista 32; Mushir Khan 4/19).
