The busy holiday season continues in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) with two teams parting ways with several key players ahead of the 2024 season set to kick off next month.

Choco Mucho, who closed out 2023 with a runner-up finish at the 2nd All-Filipino Congress, bid farewell to her co-star Caitlin Viray. Meanwhile, Signal abandoned the troika of Jerili Malabanan, Bia General, and Angela Nonagh.

The Flying Titans thanked Viray for her invaluable contributions in the past four years that have seen the former UST star rise to stardom.

“You were a giant, always a giant. Thank you Kaitlyn for your amazing contributions to the Choco Mucho Flying Titans. Both on and off the field, your dedication has been invaluable,” the team said in a social media post on Wednesday.

“Until we meet again on the other side of the field, best wishes, Titan!”

Viray was a consistent presence for Choco Mucho last conference, averaging 3.11 points per set on 47 steals, seven blocks and two aces as they reached the finals for the first time ever.

On the other hand, Signal is looking to unveil a facelift next season after releasing three players after winning the bronze medal in the previous conference.

Before the exit of open-hitter Malabanan, Liberos General and Nunag, Cignal had already signed veteran defensive specialist Dawn Macandili-Catindig.
