Here’s a look at the 2023 Shreveport Times/Monroe News-Star/Alexandria Town Talk volleyball team that was selected in consultation with area volleyball coaches.
The all-district volleyball team includes the volleyball teams of Alexandria High, Mansfield, Manee, Neville, Natchitoches Central, Ouachita, Pineville, Red River, Richwood, Ruston, St. Mary’s, West Ouachita, and West Monroe.
Player of the year
Hannah Rollins
Ruston, Sr.
Why was it chosen: Rollins recorded 311 kills, 70 blocks and 28 aces during the Lady Bearcats’ season to lead the team to its best finish.
Coach of the year
Amanda Cooley
Ruston
Why was it chosen: Cawley led the Lady Bearcats to the LHSAA Division 1 quarterfinals, the first Division 1 program in north Louisiana to advance to the state tournament at the Cajun Dome in Lafayette. Ruston finished the season 29-13.
