Simone Biles married Jonathan Owens last April. They tied the knot a few months before the greatest gymnast of all time returned to the sport after a two-year hiatus and the Packers’ defensive back had to return to action during training camp.
The athletic newlyweds have been in the news over the past few days following Owens’ comments. Biles was fed up with the narrative surrounding her husband, and hit back at the haters on social media.
Owens, an undrafted free agent out of Missouri Western, recently claimed that he “didn’t know who Biles was” when they first connected on the world’s most exclusive dating app, Raya. He “never cared for gymnastics” so apparently it wasn’t on his radar.
People were very quick to jump on it on social media.

Well, as it would turn out, Owens may have been exaggerating the truth. His comments about Biles and the lack of knowledge about her identity may have been fabricated or exaggerated.
Owens tweeted about the USA Gymnastics team in August of 2012. That was at the height of Biles’ dominant run at the London Olympics.
Was he lying about his previous knowledge of his current wife? Maybe or maybe not.
Either way, the legendary gymnast doesn’t appreciate how people talk about her husband!
She has shared multiple posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, about the ongoing narrative. Biles is frustrated with the way Owens’ comments are being interpreted.
While her frustration is understandable, it’s hard to imagine that a high-profile athlete like Jonathan Owens wasn’t aware of Simone Biles at all. He was either speaking in totality and not intending his words to be taken literally, lying, or living under a rock!
