West Indies Cricket has sadly announced the passing of legends Clyde Potts and Joe Solomon.
Both were confirmed dead on Friday evening through posts on Twitter.
First reading: “Sad news from Guyana.” Clyde Potts, former Guyana captain and West Indies player; The former West Indies Chairman of Selectors died this evening.
‘We offer our sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. May he rest in peace.’
Another tweet followed an hour later, saying: “More sad news.” Joe Solomon, former Guyana and West Indies batsman, passed away today.

West Indies Cricket also announced the death of batsman Joe Solomon on Friday
He was famous for the run that led to the famous drawn Test in 1960 at the Gabba.
‘We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and loved ones. May he rest in peace.’
Solomon played 27 Test matches for the West Indies from 1958 to 1965, scoring 1,326 runs, mostly from Nos. 6 and 7 in the batting line-up.
Potts played seven Test matches for the West Indies between 1985 and 1988, taking 10 wickets.
