PLDT concludes star-studded hiring spree with the signing of former F2 top scorer Kiana Dee, reuniting her with La Salle teammates Mika Reyes, Magui Baron and Kim Fajardo

MANILA, Philippines – PLDT saved the best for last in their star-studded recruitment process, unveiling former F2 top scorer Kianna Dy as their new high-speed third-hitter ahead of the highly anticipated 2024 PVL season on Sunday, January 7.

The opposite star, who is currently out of commission with a knee injury, joins former La Salle and F2 teammates Maguey Barron and Kim Fajardo, and reunites with another former Lady Spyker in captain Mika Reyes.

“Getting out of your comfort zone can be scary sometimes. But at the same time, you realize you can learn a lot from your new coaches and teammates,” Dee said in a statement.

“Knowing that there is still so much to learn inspires me to thrive and work even harder. It will take a lot of hard work, but I hope we can meet the expectations set for us here at PLDT.”

The 28-year-old is expected to be a huge boost to a strong wing rotation that includes the likes of Fil-Canadian Savannah Davison, breakout hitter Erika Santos, and ever-ready reserve Jules Samonte.

With recruiting momentum going into the off-season, PLDT is revitalizing their campaign for an impressive podium finish in the PVL after finishing in the top four and five multiple times in their seven conference stints thus far in the pros. – Rappler.com
