APF Club wins the Women's Volleyball National Championship

Manhari, January 2: The Armed Police Forces (APF) Club won the Keshav Lal Shrestha Memorial National Women’s Volleyball Tournament held at Hetauda.

In the final match played today, APF defeated New Diamond FC of Chandragiri Municipality by 3-1. APF defeated New Diamond in sets of 25-19, 20-25, 25-17 and 25-23 to also win a cash prize of Rs. 200,000. Likewise, runner-up New Diamond won Rs. 100,000.

Niruta Thagunna was declared the best player of the tournament and Bijay KC the best coach.

New Diamond defeated Tribhuvan Army and APF defeated Nepal Police Club to book a place in the tournament final.

Hetauda Mayor Meena Kumari Lama, organizing Keshavalal Shrestha Memorial Foundation president Pratap Bista, Makwanpur District Volleyball Association president Basant Kumar Sitaula and another guest distributed prizes and certificates to the winners.
