The silent auction held on October 3, along with a number of “give a shoe to cancer” opportunities at BHS volleyball and soccer games, resulted in a grand total of $3,060.02 for the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center. In its sixth year, the auction was held in the high school cafeteria before and during Bolivar’s volleyball games with Springfield Hillcrest, and many area merchants, attractions, and individuals offered a wide variety of merchandise, passes, gift cards, baked goods, seasonal decorations, and much more to attendees. To bid on it. Since the event’s inception in 2017 (no event was held in 2020), the grand total raised for the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center has reached $11,237.40. All proceeds from funds raised go to help patients and their families with medical oncology visits, radiation visits, patient lunches, discounted lodging/transportation, nutritional supplements, toiletries, and much more. The entire Bolivar High School volleyball program would like to extend a huge thank you to all of the individuals who helped on that busy night, especially all of the businesses and individuals who generously provided items for the auction.
