“I think (I feel) a lot better than I did a few months ago. So, (I’m) still in the process of recovering towards 100 percent (fitness). But hopefully in a few months I’ll be able to do that.” Do it,” Pant shared optimistically.
The 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who missed the entire 2023 season after undergoing surgery following a car accident, is currently undergoing rehabilitation in National Cricket Academy In Bengaluru. He is expected to lead Delhi Capitals in IPL 2024, scheduled to start on March 22.
Reflecting on the support he received, Pant expressed his deep appreciation to the fans. “At least I’ve known that people love us. They respect us and respect us and the kind of appreciation and kind of care that I would say people have shown over a period of time because of my injury. I think it’s been honest, like crazy to me. Because it means a lot as an individual.”
Acknowledging the impact of mental health during recovery, Pant highlighted the importance of fan support. “When you’re going through a really tough time or something like that happens to you, it’s not just physical, but mental as well. If your supporters and people support you or show you love, it means a lot, and it really helps with your recovery.”

During Pant’s absence in the previous IPL season, Delhi Capitals was led by Australian opener David Warner, with the team finishing second from last. Pant expressed his gratitude to the fans and pledged to reciprocate their love and support in the upcoming season.
“Thank you for always supporting us all the time. Yes, I know we sometimes gave you a hard time as fans. But as you can see, we try to do our best all the time, and hopefully we can do that next year in the future.” “It will show the kind of respect or love that you have shown over a period of time.
