For the week ending December 1, the Tribune’s Female Athlete of the Week is American volleyball player Jenna Grimmel.
Grimmel helped the Patriots to an 8-4 league record and a district semifinal victory over Bad Axe. She also recently signed with Kalamazoo College to play volleyball next season.
“She is not the tallest player on the court,” US coach Katie Grimmel said in a previous interview. “But when she sees what she wants, she goes out and gets it. She worked hard to get to (Kalamazoo College). Her heart is in volleyball. It’s fun to watch her go down that path.”
