Men's volleyball was picked first in the preseason MAC coaches poll

Newtown, Pennsylvania (January 4, 2024) – The Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) released its preseason coaches poll on Thursday, and the Stevens Institute of Technology men’s volleyball team was ranked as the preseason favorite, the league office announced. The survey was conducted among the conference’s nine coaches.

Stevens, the defending national champion, finished first from all eight opposing coaches with a total of 64 points and finished first in the poll for the third time in the past four seasons (no preseason poll was conducted in the shortened 2021 season). Christ finished second with 55 points, with Misericordia (48), Stevenson (43) and Arcadia (40) rounding out the top five.

The Ducks went 35-3 a season ago and won their second straight MAC title with a five-set win over Christ en route to the program’s second national title. The team’s 35 wins set a new record for wins in a single season. After the conference season, the Ducks captured three of the MAC’s top honors with their current starters Kobe Sherman Earning first-year Co-MVP honors Philip Boone He was ranked as Rookie of the Year. Dan Boring was named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the second time.
