Nebraska Huskers volleyball coach joins future Huskies in USA National Team Development Program

Having the opportunity to meet elites is something that makes entering pastures new easier for most people. With the path to the Olympics open, the country’s new volleyball players will have the opportunity to get a taste of the real game. With this, Nebraska Huskers assistant coach Jaylen Reyes will get some valuable time with the new Huskies before next season.

Reyes, besides coordinating game plans, is also the recruiting coordinator for the Huskers and his time with the new commitments only bodes well for future Nebraska sensations. Along with the coach, some future Huskers stars were also seen in a recent social media post.

Future Nebraska star Ryan Hunter recently posted a series of photos on her Instagram. The comment reads, “With my best friend.” Among others, Nebraska assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Jaylen Reyes was also seen with the players. Reyes joined the Nebraska volleyball program in March 2018. Reyes coaches the Husker liberos and defense while also helping coordinate game plans. He made his mark in Huskers camp in his first year.

The Nebraska Huskers, in the 2018 season, had eight newcomers. With this young team, Reyes led them to a fourth straight Final Four berth while also earning a runner-up finish in the NCAA. Aside from that, as the team’s recruiting coordinator, Reyes made Nebraska the No. 1 recruiter in the country for both 2021 and 2023 according to PrepVolleyball.com. Aside from Reyes, the national team development program in Anaheim, California is brimming with talent in terms of coaches and players.

The boot camp attracts talent from all over the country

The Nebraska Huskers have more representation in training camp in terms of players. Nebraska’s Kerry Limbach was also seen with Ryan Hunter in one of the photos. Other photos show Hunter with more volleyball stars from around the country.

In one photo, Hunter is seen beaming alongside the Pittsburg Panthers’ 2024 class, Rayla Jones of the Flint Hill School and Mimi Mambo, who was recently announced to be joining Georgia Tech next year. Among the coaches, Kirsty Le Roux of the Texas Longhorns also extended her hand in preparation.
