NEBRASKA – The Overton Eagles volleyball team continues to rack up accolades during this past championship season.
Eagles head coach Hayley Ryan was named the 2023-2024 Nebraska Coaches Association Volleyball Coach of the Year for her performance last season with Overton. The announcement was made on Monday by the NCA.
Overton finished the 2023 season as the Class D2 state champion, going 32-3 on the season while not dropping a set in the entire NSAA volleyball tournament to Central Valley, Meridian and Cambridge. The Eagles got revenge on the Trojans, as Overton fell in five sets to Cambridge in the subdistrict final.

Overton won 79 sets during their season, losing only 11 sets all year. They were led by Coach Ryan’s daughters – Julie, Wayne State, and Daisy. JoLee was solid, racking up 430 kills on the season while hitting .408 for the season. She added 64 aces, 49 total blocks, and 284 digs.
