The season ended last week for the Wisconsin Badgers, but news about the roster has continued to emerge over the past few days.
Sophomore outside tackle Ella Wrobel entered the transfer portal on Monday. The 6-foot-4 hitter from Illinois, who redshirted last season, played in six games during her freshman season. She will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Senior defensive specialist Sidney Reed has also entered the transfer portal. The former North Carolina Tar Heel announced the decision before the start of the NCAA Tournament, and that she will use her final year of eligibility elsewhere.
Another expected roster move that was confirmed Friday night is that senior recruit MJ Hammill posted on Instagram that she will not be part of the UW program next season, seemingly hinting that she will not use another year of eligibility at a different school.
In the post, Hamill thanked fans for the “support, love and dedication” they gave her during her time on the show. Hamill said it was “hard to play a sport that she was a part of because she was able to walk.”
These departures add to more turnover for the Badgers this season, which has had several seniors as part of its rosters. Reid, Wrobel and Hamill will join Timmy Thomas-Ilara, Izzy Ashburn, Jocelyn Bowyer and Gabby Macca as departing players.
UW will add six players to its upcoming recruiting class, but may also be active in the transfer portal as well. Reports from Dennis Bunzel of the Wisconsin State Journal indicate that Minnesota transfer Taylor Landwehr is considering the Badgers as her next destination.
We’ll be sure to report any other roster moves here.
