MANILA, Philippines – The Volleyball Premier League looks to follow up on its successful 2023 season as it holds three conferences next year starting with the first of two All-Filipino Conferences kicking off on February 17.
The league has been a smashing success this year, with a season highlighted by a record crowd of 24,459 in the second game of the PVL All-Filipino Conference win for Creamline over Choco Mucho just over a week ago.
The league is bringing back the All-Filipino Conference as its season opener which will feature a single-round robin format of eliminations with the top four advancing to a single-round robin semifinal. The top then clashes for the crown.
Next season will also see the return of the enhanced conference, which will be combined with the invitational conference, after it was temporarily canceled this year due to scheduling issues.
The conference will still include two foreign guest teams, while local clubs will be allowed to field one foreign player each.
However, members of the national team will sit out of conference so they can focus on their training with nationals.
The format calls for the field to be divided into two groups that play in one round with the top four from each bracket advancing to the quarterfinals by knockout.
The season will then conclude with another tilt for the Filipinos in December.
