Simone Biles’ husband has gotten himself into a bit of hot water.
Recently, NFL player Jonathan Owens appeared Pivotal Podcast, He spoke with host Channing Crowder about the early days of his relationship with his current wife, Simone Biles.
Crowder asked: “How the hell did you pull Simone Biles?”, to which Owens replied: “Seriously, how did you pull me, man? That’s the question.”
Biles recently became the most decorated gymnast of all time.
Owens went on to explain that he first met Biles after matching with her on the dating app Raya in 2020, but had no idea who she was.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Biles earned four gold medals and one bronze for her gymnastics prowess. Owens says he was in college at the time and didn’t watch the games.

Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, is standing by her man, NFL player Jonathan Owens, after he claimed he didn’t know her when they first started dating, then said on a podcast that he was the “catch” in their relationship.
He said on the podcast that the only thing that alerted him to the fact that Biles was “somebody” was her high number of followers on Instagram.
“I’m like, let me see who this is.” “I never cared for gymnastics, so that piqued my curiosity,” he explained.
“The first thing I saw was that she had a bunch of stuff [Insta] Followers. So I’m like, “Okay, it should be good.”
When the show host questioned Owens’ assertion that he was the “catch” in their relationship, Owens simply replied: “I always say men are the catch.”
His comments sparked a quick backlash from online commenters, who pointed out that Biles is a much bigger deal than he is. Many found it unbelievable that a professional athlete had no idea who Simone Biles was.
“I literally don’t watch the Olympics and I still don’t know who Simone Biles is…” one person wrote.
“Divorce immediately,” said another, while another person said it was just a “walking red flag.”
Following the backlash, Owens, the Green Bay Packers football player, shared a photo of himself with Biles on Instagram. “Not bothered. Just know we’re locked in here,” he captioned the photo at their wedding.
Biles then reshared the photos on her own page.
