ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup: Saad Baig appointed captain of Pakistan U-19 team

Saad Baig has been appointed captain of the Pakistan Under-19 team for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup, which will be held in South Africa from January 19 to February 11, 2024.

The Pakistan U-19 team includes captain and wicket-keeper Saad Baig, vice-captain Ali Asfand, and players Ali Raza, Ahmed Hassan, Amir Hassan, Arafat Minhas, Azan Owais, Haroon Arshad, Khabib Khaleel, Muhammad Zeeshan, Naveed Ahmed Khan, Shehzeb Khan, Shamil Hussain, Muhammad Riazullah, and Ubaid Shah.

The support team, led by team manager Shoaib Muhammad and head coach Muhammad Yousuf, is preparing for the competition through a training camp in Lahore from December 28, 2023 to January 6, 2024.

Sohail Tanveer expressed his optimism about the team’s abilities and balance, especially in light of the pitch conditions in South Africa, where speed bowling is appropriate. According to the chief selector, the group is well-equipped, covering all areas and looking for a victorious Under-19 Cricket World Cup campaign.
