After the 2023 season ended, Kansas State volleyball coach Jason Mansfield said adding middle blockers would be a priority in the transfer portal.

Enter Meg Brown and Jordyn Williams.

Mansfield announced the addition of the middle blocker duo to the 2024 roster on Wednesday afternoon.

Brown joins the Wildcats as a Pepperdine graduate. Brown spent all four years of her collegiate career with the Waves, collecting All-West Coast Conference honors each year, highlighted by three first-team nods.

“We are very excited to welcome Meg to our Wildcat family,” Mansfield said in a written statement. “Meg brings incredible experience to our program from her time at Pepperdine, where she competed against some of the best teams in the country while making the NCAA Tournament multiple times. Her character, athleticism, skill and leadership are all elite and will make an immediate impact for us at K-State.”

Standing at 6-foot-3, Brown has collected 930 kills at a .339 clip in her seasons at Pepperdine. She also added 334 total blocks and 81 aces, playing a key role in four straight NCAA Tournament appearances by the Waves.

“I am very excited about my commitment and the future of volleyball at K-State,” Brown said. “With only one year of eligibility remaining, I was looking for a place where I could continue to be challenged on and off the field, as well as an environment that focused heavily on relationships and culture.”

Brown said the moment she stepped onto campus, she felt the impact the coaching staff had made in just one year with the program, highlighting the team’s commitment to striving for success.

Williams, a 6-foot-2 native of Lantana, Texas, made the varsity Wildcat transfer after two seasons at Kentucky. Williams battled the injury in Lexington as she contested 46 sets over 17 matches.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jordyn to K-State Volleyball,” Mansfield said. “She is an amazing athlete, highly skilled and fiercely competitive, and will fit very well into the culture we are creating here.”

Williams recorded 62 kills (1.59 per set) in her redshirt sophomore campaign last year. Her average of one block per set led the Wildcats.

“I walk by faith, and I know that without God none of this would be possible,” Williams said. “I am also very grateful to my family and friends for all the support throughout this process. I am very fortunate to have another opportunity and excited for my future with K-State volleyball.”

Brown and Williams fill K-State’s need at middle blocker after the departures of seniors Kade Fernholz and Sydney Bolding, as well as senior Dahlia Wilson who entered the portal.
