“Every time they look at each other, you can tell how beautiful they are [their meet] It was theirs,” he said. “But now everyone has twisted that and taken it and made it a negative thing. But what people didn’t do was watch the entire show.

He explained that Owens talked about how Biles changed his life and how once they met, it was history. They were instantly hooked.

Clark continued, “So, what’s happened is that people sitting at home — whether they’re married or single — are now worried about this guy and his relationship, instead of being happy for two people who are excited to be together, two people who support each other wholeheartedly.”

Instead of hearing the full story, he pointed out that people were taking one clip out of it and asked, if Biles and Owens are happy together, why would anyone care about the joke the Green Bay Packers player told on the podcast?

“This is a couple that follows their own path, and they found their way to each other in a very unique way,” he concluded. “Just because you feel he should worship the gymnast, Simone Biles, doesn’t mean you can’t respect that he loves the woman, Simone Biles.”

Clarke’s comments come after Owens received backlash for making a joke about how he didn’t pull Biles but she pulled him on an episode of the hub. He explained that he didn’t know who she was when she won the Olympics, because he was in college at the time and didn’t have NBC to watch the competition. Not to mention, he was at soccer practice that summer.

He continued that Biles first contacted him on a dating app, and they began texting shortly after before meeting in person. He admitted that he was “afraid to commit” at first because of where he was in his life and he thought things were still too early.

“But you know, it happens when you least expect it,” he said on the podcast. “When we went out together, we hit it off immediately.”
