Port Townsend players are among the champions of volleyball

“I’d Hit That,” an adult volleyball team made up of players from Port Townsend, Sequim and Port Angeles, defeated opposing team Ritzy Diggs 25-21, 25-20 in the championship match to win the Peninsula Volleyball League. Division on the evening of Wednesday, December 13.

Uplift, the 2022 champion, defeated Set for Life with a score of 20-25, 25-17, and 15-10 in the match to determine third and fourth places.

In the semifinals, Ritzy Digs led from Back to Edge Upleft 18-25, 25-23, 15-9, while I’d Hit That beat Set For Life 25-14, 25-8.

The Peninsula Volleyball League Division B finals took place on Tuesday, December 12, when Steim Family Dentistry came back to edge 7 Cedars Casino by scores of 22-25, 25-16, 15-9 in the championship match.

Elwha Food and Fuel held off The Vengeance 25-21, 25-12 to take third place.

In the Section B semifinals, Steim Dental defeated Elwha Food and Fuel by a score of 25-19, 19-25, 15-12, while 7 Cedars defeated “The Vengeance” by a score of 13-25, 25-19, 15-9.

The Peninsula Volleyball League will offer a winter league in the new year, beginning the week of January 8, 2024.

The senior co-ed league serves as a fundraiser for Pirate Athletics.
