This cricket club that has been around since 1820 needs your help.
Selsley Cricket Club wants to improve the playing experience on its picturesque ground by purchasing a motorized roller and carrying out regular maintenance of the playing surface.
The coronavirus pandemic has impacted the club with reduced playing opportunities and income generation from matches, while increased financial demands on the club in terms of maintenance costs.
Unfortunately, during the pandemic, ground maintenance has also been affected, and now the playing surface needs more attention and restoration.
The main aim of Selsley Cricket Club is to encourage grassroots cricket and get people to play cricket using their unique ground and facilities.
Selsley CC sees itself as more than just a cricket club. They are part of our local community and provide opportunities for social connection, reduced isolation and intergenerational engagement.
The crowdfunding target of £4,500 is in sight, with £3,720 already raised. There has been an overwhelming response from individuals and nearby cricket clubs at King Stanley and Stroud CC to donate. Once the target has been reached, Sport England (through Active Together) will provide £1,350 of 30% matching funding to enable the club to improve the playing facilities at Selsley Hill.
