Ajayi is optimistic about choosing a ticket to qualify for the African Games

Nigeria’s senior women’s volleyball team coach, Samuel Ajayi, on Thursday in Abuja, said he was confident the team would pick a ticket to the All Africa Games in Ghana.

Ajaji said that the team is determined to make the federation and the nation proud in the qualifiers. He said that the team is determined to participate in the African Games next March.

He added: The team is well prepared for the qualifiers, and the players are determined to win all their matches so that they can represent the federation in Ghana.

He said: “The team aims to qualify and win a medal, and to achieve this, the players need to focus and play all their matches with instructions.”

12 players for the upcoming African Games qualifiers in Lagos.

They are Sharon Ashi, Aliya Usman, Ijeoma Okpabi (captain), Mariam Ibrahim, Mirabel Onyego, Happy Weshilang, Blessing Onyekoye, Deborah Chukwu, Ifunanya Odegbala, Kelechi Ndukuba, Albertina Francis and Jumai Petros.

Ukpabi was named team captain. Petros is the assistant captain.

The 2024 All Africa Games qualifiers are scheduled to be held from January 4 to 8 at the National Stadium in Lagos.

The 13th edition of the Games will be held in Ghana from March 8 to 23.
