Taylor added that as the IPL and other tournaments grow, Test cricket will take a back seat.

I think Australia made the right decisions, but the pressure is expected to increase in the future. There are discussions about the second IPL, emerging Dubai leagues and various American leagues. The continued emergence of alternative formats poses a constant threat to Test cricket. Striking the right balance and ensuring Test cricket is maintained and prioritized will become more difficult.

Meanwhile, Mark praised Starc for prioritizing international cricket over domestic leagues.

“I hope the players emulate Mitchell Starc’s style. Focus on earning the green, strive to become an excellent Test cricketer, knowing that the Indian Premier League will remain an option throughout your career.

Notably, the last time Starc played the Indian Premier League was in 2015, and since then he has always prioritized international cricket.
