When I spoke with Texas coach Gerrit Elliott on Thursday night, I hadn’t even looked at the voters’ votes for national coach of the year.
So that was never mentioned on our visit while he was in Park City, Utah, where he was taking a break after his Longhorns won the NCAA volleyball championship for the second year in a row.
We talked about his team and its run to the title, recruiting and much more, including what happened with the red card he received in the first set of last Sunday’s sweep over Nebraska:
